She has actively worked in the mining sector for over 12years. She worked in the data collecting of the National Action plan on the elimination of the use of mercury in Nigeria, she also worked as a team lead in the sensitization and traiing of ASGM in Niger, plateau, and Osun State on promoting resilience to the impact of COVID-19 in Artisanal Mining Communities. She developed a framework on community development for a Lead-Zinc and Gold mining project. Emily has worked with a committee on teh development of the strategic framework and baseline studies for women in mining communities in Nigeria. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria. Due to her proficiency in the 3 major language in Nigeria Emily has provided services as an interpreter for mining companies and helps with interface with local ASM workers and Nigerian government regulatory agencies. She is currently the National Secretary of Women in Mining in Nigeria
